Bettergy Corp. announced that it has entered into a joint venture with Alionyx Energy Systems, combining the lithium battery technologies of the two companies in a new company:  LiNova Energy LP.

LiNova is developing the first commercial, high-performance, safe, lithium-metal battery with a sustainable polymer cathode The battery pairs Linova’s proprietary high performance polymer cathode with Bettergy’s 3-D Lithium metal anode, non-flammable electrolyte and dendrite-blocking solid state membrane to deliver a sustainable energy storage solution that does not use nickel or cobalt in the cathode but rather uses abundant and domestically-sourced cathode materials that are not subject to supply chain and geopolitical instability issues.

The battery offers a superior solution to current battery options, as it increases battery energy density and battery safety, while reducing costs, utilizing sustainable inputs, and reduces CO2 emissions from the cathode manufacturing process.
